Rapper Tory Lanez sentenced to 10 years in jail for shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Rapper, singer, and songwriter Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020.

Canadian rapper Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty in December 2022 of three felonies related to the shooting, which left his fellow artist injured in the foot after a party at the Hollywood Hills home of reality star and makeup mogul Kylie Jenner on July 12, 2020.

A jury convicted Lanez of three felony charges in December: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

“I said some very immature things that I shouldn’t have said. I revealed some secrets I shouldn’t have revealed,” Lanez said during his statement in court.
